Frequently Asked Questions

1. What if we don't love the photos?

Then we make it right. If your gallery isn't what you hoped for, tell us and we'll reshoot at no charge. We're comfortable offering that because most of what makes a session good happens before it. Picking a location that suits your family, timing it to the light and to your kids' day. By the time we pick up the camera, we already know how it's going to look.

2. How much do we have to plan?

Very little. Once you book, we suggest a location and a time that work around where you live and how old your kids are, and we're on the other end of a text for anything that comes up before the day. You show up. The rest is ours. Heritage sessions add wardrobe and styling guidance beforehand.

3. When will we get our photos?

Your full edited gallery arrives within a week of your session. If you're planning holiday cards, bookings start early September. Fall weekends fill first, and that timing leaves room for prints to arrive before cards need to go out.

4. Is 30 to 45 minutes really enough time?

Yes, and for young kids it's the right amount. Attention runs out before the clock does, so a longer session usually means more photos of tired children. We build in unhurried time at the start for everyone to settle, and we're photographing the whole way through. Heritage sessions run 60 to 75 minutes for extended family or outfit changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

5. Do we have to order prints through you?

No, your print release means you can print anywhere you like. Most families order through the gallery anyway, because it's a professional lab and the files are already sized and color-managed for it. Prints, framed pieces, and canvases are all available there, and your gallery opens with a limited-time discount, so it's worth picking favorites early.

6. What if my child has a hard day?

You never have to apologize. We pace every session around your kids, take breaks whenever they're needed, and if the day truly isn't working we'll find a new date together at no charge. If your child is autistic or sensory-sensitive, our Calm and Connected sessions are built around exactly this, with a second person there whose only job is your child.

7. Where do you photograph, and do you come to our town?

Yes. We're based in Clark and photograph families across Westfield, Summit, Short Hills, Millburn, Scotch Plains, Cranford, Chatham, Mountainside, Fanwood, Berkeley Heights, and New Providence. Sessions happen at a park we know well, in your backyard, or at home, with no travel fee anywhere in that area.

8. What holds our date, and what if we need to reschedule?

A $150 retainer holds your date and goes toward your session, with the rest due after the session, before your gallery is delivered. If weather or a sick kid means moving the day, we reschedule at no charge. We watch the forecast together, a cloudy day alone usually isn't worth moving, since the light just after rain is some of the best there is.
